Back in early 2012, I had the pleasure of meeting the beloved “Catholic Answers Live” host Patrick Coffin when he was here in Fargo for our annual Catholic radio fundraising banquet. Since then, I’ve had several brief crossings with him and his family in the summertime while they’ve been on vacation in the neighboring land of Minnesota. Their Minnesota friends and hosts, from my husband’s hometown, recently asked me to spread the word about a Patrick appearance in our neck of the woods.
Well, not the Fargo neck exactly, but St. Cloud, which is close enough to use as an excuse for a day trip out of town. Or, if you’re on your way to the Twin Cities to do some school shopping at the Mall of America, take in a concert, or watch your favorite sports team in action, you know you’re going to need a potty break along the way. And who better to entertain you during that pause than Mr. Coffin himself?
Seriously now, those who listen regularly to CAL, like I do, know what a treat would be. I wish so much that we could zip over that way to catch him while he’s around, but it’s just not in the cards this time. (Speaking of cards, Patrick is, along with being a talented apologist, a magician with many cards up his sleeves, among other tricks.)
Here’s the skinny. The event, “Recharge!,” is a one-night mission bearing the subtitle, “Coming Back to Church, Even If You Go Every Sunday.” Though this post comes to you later than I would have liked, please note (at bottom) that you are not too late to take advantage of the early-bird registration! (Go here for a larger image and more details.)
Fans of the show have mostly all heard by now that Patrick will be leaving his cushy spot at the CAL studios to embark on a new adventure. What that adventure entails in its entirety, I do not know, but I have a feeling Patrick will drop some hints along the sidewalks of St. Cloud.

If you really are a fan, I don’t need to say anything more to convince you what a great opportunity this is, and if you have no idea who in the world Patrick Coffin is, I don’t need to say anything more period. Either way, I’m just spreading a little good news today; just doing a little favor for some sweet friends.
And that’s all I got for now. Until next time, prayers and peace…
