My blogging is going to slog for a while.
Hey, everyone needs a little break every once in a while, right? And I’m finding that I can’t avoid one now, what with my trip to Philly just days away. I’ll be heading out Sept. 22, back Sept. 28, to take in and report on the World Meeting of Families 2015, and hopefully, brush shoulders, or particles of holy air at the very least, with our pontiff, Pope Francis.
Which means, no blogging before and after, too, while I meet deadlines, process and recover.
A real blog slog.
Now don’t let that fool you into thinking I am slogging in my life, too. In fact, the opposite would be true. I’ll be busy packing, carting one son to tennis and another to soccer and piano lessons, getting the middle girl to babysitting gigs, and her older siblings, when cars stall, to work and back.
That said, tomorrow night, I will be involved in something very special. I’ve been asked by our local Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Moorhead’s “Ministry in Motion” team to help them commemorate World Gratitude Day by speaking on the topic of gratitude. It’s part of their “Pizza, Prayer and Possibilities” sessions that have been taking place Thursdays this fall.
It’s open to anyone close enough to reach us by a reasonable mode of transportation. We’ll be at Gio’s Pizzeria and Event Center, 123 21st St. S., from 6 to 7:30.
My part in this will be very small, but you can bet that I am grateful for it. And I hope anyone who takes time out to join us in munching on some “pie” and hearing an inspiring word or two will leave grateful as well.
After Philly – and you can count on me sharing here about that trip just as soon as I find my bearings again – I will participate in another neat local event following my time with Pope Francis and the gang. That gathering will involved another “p” word: peace.
Okay, with that, I have to go stir up my pot of pizza sauce so it’s ready by Thursday! (Okay, I’m kidding. This will be one night I won’t have to prepare dinner!)
Q4U: What’s your favorite kind of pizza? What are you most grateful for?
Vicky says
Pizza is probably my favorite food. It’s a real treat these days- it doesn’t mesh with my low sodium requirement, so sadly I’ve not had much. We love doing the sweet/salty combos- Canadian bacon/pineapple would be the most favorite. My list of things I am grateful for- is in the thousands. Just waking up this morning, puts a big smile on face, before my feet hit the floor 🙂
