The last time I tried downloading a photo here, Google informed me I’d reached my maximum and would have to upgrade to add more photos. If this is true, it sort of takes away from the “blogging is free” element of blogging, which is one of the things I’ve truly appreciated about it. And I can’t imagine my blog without the photos. So, I’m going to be looking into this in the coming days. Meantime, if you’re a blogger, has this happened to you, and what did you do about it? For the short term, you can find my posts over on my “mirror” blog, “Peace Garden Mama II” on Area Voices (associated with our daily newspaper, The Forum). Hopefully we’ll get this thing up and running again soon.
Thanks for your patience.

Yes, I hit the maximum space too, about a year ago. I just had to purchase space using google wallet and it was a tiny fee really- a few dollars I recall. You can also choose to host your photos on another service like photo bucket and can share directly to your site. I did that for quite awhile a couple of years ago- I’m sure there are more options for hosting pics too that I am not even aware of! I know you’ll figure it out- you have too much value to bring to not be here and we’d miss you!

Same thing happened to me this summer. I paid for the upgrade, a couple bucks. I felt I needed to because I use so many photos on my blog.

Thanks Vicky and Mary. The biggest thing for me is that I wasn’t expecting it after blogging since 2008. But I’ll likely bite the bullet. Thanks for being there. 🙂

I have paid the $5 fee for several years..they grandfathered in the “old people” that had paid the fee, as long as we keep our wallet up to date it will be $5 a year. From what I understand if you did not have the old plan then it will cost 2 to 3 $ a month…Good Luck:)
