I had a whole different post worked up tonight, but as I moved through it, I decided it was more suited to column material. So I peeled it off of here and submitted it to my editor at The Forum. (I’ll post is here later.) Meantime, I decided to get caught up on reading a few of my favorite blogs and made the mistake (?) of reading Jennifer’s latest at Conversion Diary. I know I now risk being labeled a compulsive blog borrower, but once again, Jennifer’s words have “wowed” me, and I can’t fathom keeping them to myself. So, I’m, once again, pointing to her in these slightly-more-spiritual Lenten (now Holy Week) posts.
This latest bit of writing from Jennifer actually is not a blog post but an article printed in the most recent issue of Our Sunday Visitor. I’m glad to see Jennifer spreading her wings to publications beyond her blog. She deserves a wider audience.
One of the reasons Jennifer’s story is so compelling to me is that, until her very recent adulthood, the concept of God being a reality wasn’t even on her radar screen. So how was it, really, that she stumbled upon the path of Christianity in the last couple years? This is something that has perplexed her as much as most anyone who has read her story. In this article, Jennifer reveals the answer to the question. She provides the “missing link,” so to speak. I can think of no better words than hers to share here as Holy Thursday comes to a close to make way for Good Friday. And yes, it relates to parenting — very directly so. You will understand why when you read the article.
Peace to you all this night, and into tomorrow…
