Every other year, we spend Christmas in my husband’s hometown of Glenwood, Minnesota, which abuts Lake Minnewaska. It never fails to impress us when, in the final moments of the journey, we take a sudden dip into town and see the lake in all its splendor. Summertime, this means a breathtaking view of the glistening water, but the view in the wintertime of the frosted, fish-house-laden lake can be every bit as awe-inspiring, especially at sunset. I don’t know that these photos do it justice, but it’s a hint, anyway, of one of our Christmas joys.
