I’d heard they’d be peeking out soon, and tonight after a trip to DQ, I caught them in their glory just as the sun started lowering: tantalizing tulips! Perhaps one of the reasons they are cause for such excitement is their fleeting nature. They teach us to appreciate the here and now.
Those of you who have stopped by before see that the lazy susan is no longer heading the blog. It will remain a favorite, but I decided to let the tulips have their turn in the spotlight for a while.
Tomorrow, thousands will descend upon our town for the Fargo Marathon. Alas, I will be at the soccer field for five hours instead. Maybe someday I’ll join the throngs of people and take to the Fargo streets to try to regain my former zeal for running. For both events, the weather forecast looks bright, so, we shall see!
Happy weekend…

Beautiful! Yes they are fleeting aren’t they? Ours are already fading off fast after a few weeks of glory. We’ll never forget the enthusiasm and surprise upon seeing a whole row of them on the south side of our house in the Spring- we purchase the home in late summer and had no idea we were getting tulips as well! Tulips in Fargo. It’s kinda of oxymoron isn’t it? Snow. High Heat. High winds. Somehow they get a moment or two then poof. Gone. But they make our spring as they kids check the bulbs each day until they have bursted forth 🙂

Same here — our tulips were a complete surprise, planted by another homeowner before us; a total gift. Like yours, a day after I posted, I found them looking pretty wind-blown and faded, so I am so glad my camera, some down time and the sunlight converged when they did. I will cherish our early spring evening of play with the tulips as backdrop for a very long time. Glad to know you’ve enjoyed the same!
