While at my daughter’s spring musical yesterday, I took the long way back to the parking lot, meandering through the church portion of the building. It was there in the sanctuary where I happened upon these beautiful April flowers. In contrast, the flowerpot on our front steps looked mighty sad this afternoon, pummeled as it was by spring snowflakes, and the bike alongside it seems to symbolize a promise of spring that has eluded the kids, who’d so eagerly anticipated time outdoors.
The bright spot in the midst of a spring blizzard? The postponement of tomorrow’s soccer games, which means we’ll be blessed by one more lazy Saturday before the real spring finally arrives. Although, based on how things have gone this year, I’m thinking we’ll skip spring altogether and head right into summer.
But for now, hot chocolate anyone?
