Morning phone call, “Yes, let’s go!”
Van slogs through the Easter snow
Egg-shaped cookies, bare but baked
How much frosting will it take?
Hands stirring, colors swirling
Pastel palette plates, twirling
Fingers small and fingers tall
Dots and lines, enough for all
Russian tea cake canopy
Colored creativity
Mothers chatting, kids at play
Blessed way to spend the day!
THE GREAT EMERGENCE says
It sure was wasn’t it? I was so happy to be able to be a part of it. I especially watched the kids’ creativity of the mixing frosting colors and even different techniques like the pressing of the cookie onto a swirl of color. And of course the Moms decorated splendidly as well! Wonderful afternoon amidst the glorious falling snow.

Jill,
Our dear friend who hosted this gathering has always encouraged creativity in not only her own children but others’ as well. Our hours together yesterday reminded me of how refreshing it is to tap into that creative side of us. Everyone has it in them, but sometimes we forget…and sometimes in order to take hold of it, we need to get down in the mud or field of flowers or grass or on the coloring table and hang out with our kids, not just as supervisors, but as fellow creative beings. 🙂

Here goes a 2nd try! I loved the creativity on the cookies and they looked like real eggs! I’m missing not egg decorating with you and kids today but hopefully, next Easter, I can be there with you to do that and to help you celebrate Easter. Love, Mom

I only wish I had been there with you. The “eggs” look wonderful.
