Introducing Stories to Children and Businesses through Books

I've been fortunate to have been involved in the creation of books, both as an author of children's books and through working with two businessmen in an editing capacity. First Salmon (Boyds Mills Press), my first title, a labor of love for the Salish people of Western Washington, is a fictional story about a boy who experiences his tribe's salmon-welcoming ceremony with new eyes after the death of his uncle. Coming on its heels was my second published book, P is for Peace Garden: A North Dakota Alphabet (Sleeping Bear Press), part of the "Discover America State by State" series. Thanks to the children who enjoyed reading it, Peace Garden was chosen as a national Flicker Tale Award winner in 2006. It also received a first place award by the North Dakota Professional Communicators.

In 2007, I had the chance to work with Harlan Goerger and Greg Deal on their book, The Selling Gap: Selling Strategies for the 21st Century. Not only did I enjoy the editing process, but I learned many valuable marketing tips through absorbing the The Selling Gap contents.

Since becoming an author, I've enjoyed talking with students, reading councils and library groups about the importance of literacy and writing. To arrange for an author visit for your school or organization, please see the Services page. Contact me directly for presentation fees.

My children's books can be ordered through the publishers, Fargostuff.com, your local bookstore or online stores like Amazon.
